01 August 2025 marked a powerful milestone in our mission to build a more inclusive and skilled digital workforce. Atechs IT Consulting, in proud partnership with Nova College, the Department of Labour, and UIF, officially welcomed over 100 eager learners into the System Development Skills Programme, a flagship initiative under the Labour Activation Programme.

This isn’t just a training programme. It’s a launchpad for young South Africans to gain the skills, confidence, and experience needed to thrive in today’s tech-driven economy.

What the Programme Offers

The programme spans six months, carefully designed to balance technical mastery with real-world application:

  • Phase 1: Intensive Training (3 Months)
Hosted and delivered by Atechs, learners are immersed in the world of system development. From coding fundamentals to software architecture and agile methodologies, students engage in interactive classes, hands-on labs, and mentorship from seasoned IT professionals.
  • Phase 2: Workplace Integration (3 Months)
After completing their training, students will be placed in partner companies to apply their skills in live environments. This phase bridges the gap between education and employment, giving learners the chance to contribute meaningfully to real projects while building their professional networks.

A Strong Start

The programme kicked off with an induction session on 01 August 2025, where students were introduced to the curriculum, facilitators, and expectations. The energy was electric filled with curiosity, ambition, and hope.

By 04 August 2025, classes were in full swing. Learners arrived ready to dive into the world of system development, and our team at Atechs is thrilled to guide them every step of the way. This programme is more than just learning how to code it’s about building a future,” said one of our facilitators.
“We’re here to help these students unlock their potential and show them that they belong in tech.”

Collaboration That Matters

This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the support of Nova College, whose commitment to education and empowerment aligns perfectly with our mission. Together with the Department of Labour and UIF, we’re creating pathways for young South Africans to build sustainable careers in tech.

Why It Matters

South Africa faces a critical need for skilled professionals in the digital space. At the same time, many young people struggle to access quality training and meaningful employment. This programme addresses both challenges head-on.

By hosting and training these learners, Atechs is investing in the future one student, one skill, one opportunity at a time.

“We believe in the power of education to transform lives,” said Atechs IT Consulting Director.
“This is our way of giving back, and building a tech ecosystem that reflects the diversity and brilliance of our country.”

What’s Next?

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing updates, student stories, and behind-the-scenes moments from the programme. Follow our journey as we build skills, launch careers, and shape the future of tech in South Africa.

To our students: welcome to Atechs. Let’s build something extraordinary together.
